Video Summary

This video shows some of our mated discus breeding pairs with fry or eggs. Notice how the small fry stay close to their parents and feed off of their sides. They swarm all around their parents, feeding on the mucus formed on their parent's sides. The fry go back and forth between the parents, always staying close together. When a parent discus needs a break from the feeding fry, it will swim in a quick spurt and turn to transfer the fry off to the other parent. The fry then swarm over to the other discus, while the other parent usually moves to the other side of the aquarium to rest.
