This is a young discus pair with a very large spawn. The tiny dark specks on the fish on the left are baby discus fry.
The discus fry feed on an epidermal mucus secreted on the sides of both parents. The discus fry grow very quickly, doubling in size in just a few days. It's amazing to see how fast the discus fry grow.
Usually the discus parents take turns with feeding the fry. The discus parent with the fry will swim in a quick U-turn motion to dump off the feeding fry on the other parent.
