Discus Fish Pair with Fry

Here's one of our gorgeous discus breeding pair with discus fry. The discus pair still guard and protect their brood even when the discus fry are dime size. All of our breeding pairs are in 38 gallon high home made aquariums or 50 gallon aquariums. The advantage of keeping pairs in large tanks is that you don't have to disturb them much while they have eggs or wigglers. Cleaning the tank at that stage can cause the parents to eat the eggs or fry. Also a larger tank allows you to grow out the fry with the parents for a longer period of time, giving the mated discus pair a break from their spawning cycle. We never get tired of watching our discus pairs take care of their fry. It's always a beautiful site to see!
